#NeverForget911

On behalf of Fred…

“Stopped in at Starbucks this morning for a boost. My barista asked me how my day was going. At 7:40 a.m. my reply was, “GREAT! But give me about an hour and I’ll be sure to screw it up.”

It’s actually not that bad but I can’t help remembering that sapphire blue sky while driving to work that Tuesday morning eleven years ago; after a torrential downpour the night before, a Yanks vs. Red Sox game cancelled; my buddy Tom Fitzpatrick, whom I liked so much, choosing not to join me and my other pals at that game. Instead, Tommy chose to spend time with his wife Marianne, and children, Caroline and Brendan, that Monday night before planning to hop a flight to Denver the next morning. He decided to stop at the office on his way to the airport.

I’m happy to be alive. I miss Tommy.

Enjoy this beautiful Tuesday, and remember our heroes.”
