Believing that a picture is worth a thousand words, Chris Evans hired Harquin to write and produce a documentary-like video to efficiently demonstrate the application process of the revolutionary cocoon system, step-by-step.

Universal Builder’s Supply was founded in 1931 as a subcontractor to the building trade. As the company grew and developed; scaffolding and hoisting systems became the primary focus, enabling architects and builders to safely construct some of the most well-known and prestigious structures throughout the United States.

Now UBS has introduced the next generation of hoisting system that is safer and technologically superior to any other in the history of the trade. With safety and efficiency paramount, Kevin O’Callaghan, President of UBS, and Chris Evans, UBS’s Chief Engineer developed The UBS Cocoon, a system that dramatically reduces the incidence of falling debris, tools, equipment, and most importantly, workers, from tall buildings as they are being constructed.

The UBS Cocoon is a patented protection system, designed to protect the leading edge of floors under construction. Working closely with major contractors in the New York area, where typical concrete construction follows a two-day pour cycle (a new floor is poured every second day) the system was developed and refined to maintain the aggressive construction schedule. The UBS Cocoon has enabled projects to be built safer, faster and more economically than ever before.

The “cocoon” system has quickly become the “Gold Standard” of such devices, endorsed by the top executives in the field of construction around the world.
